Kaleidoscope
Problem
Our customer occupied herself with different kinds of hobbies. One of them was photography. She had practically an uncountable number of digital photos and one day she was invited to a scrapbooking party and thought that this might be a good way to display those photos. This was a great idea for a business to start. In a number of years she was particularly drawn to the kaleidoscope technique! Although successful at creating several kaleidoscopes on her computer, it was time consuming and cumbersome.

Our solution
We have created a software application implemented with the scrap booker, crafter and photo enthusiast in mind. With just a few simple clicks of the mouse you can create a kaleidoscope from your own digital images and clip art. With the "Print Wizard" you can create kaleidoscopes up to 16-inches using your own printer.
Experience we obtained during the development process.
Developing this project we obtained great experience working with different graphic formats (both vector and raster) like TIFF, BMP, JPG, GIF, WMF and other. The speed and quality were very important, particularly in such situations with images like zooming, moving, rotation and clipping.
We have tried a number of various algorithms before obtained the best quality/speed. And this is not to mention a pretty complex printing wizard and the experience we obtained in printing the images to different printers and different page formats.
